S.K.I.F.T.T. would like to invite you and your team to S.K.I.F. V Pan American Karate Championships.

S.K.I.F. V Pan American Karate Championships will be held at the Jean Pierre Complex, Wrightson Road, Port of Spain, Trinidad from Thursday 8th April to Sunday 11th April, 2004.

Trinidad has the flowers, rain forest, peaks, fertile valleys and beaches beautifully common to most of the Caribbean.  But Trinidad also claims exceptional natural features such as La Brea Pitch Lake, the wildlife-filled Caroni and Nariva Swamps, the mountainside Asa Wright Nature Centre, the bird-breeding grounds of the Point-a-Pierre Wild Fowl Trust and exquisite birding everywhere.  Its mineral deposits make the country comparatively wealthy. Result is a rare widespread worldliness among English-speaking islanders.

Sun, sand, and sea may constitute the standard-issue Tropics.  But colourful, one-of-a-kind, and affordable Trinidad supplies travelers with the gift-wrapped version.

Easter weekend in Trinidad is the time of kite flying, horse-racing events and Easter bonnet parades.  The La Divina Pastora festival bringing the Catholic and Hindu communities together is celebrated in Siparia.

Our sister isle, Tobago, is relaxed, slow-paced and largely undeveloped.  Travelers enjoy its beaches, reefs and birdlife.  It is approximately 20 minutes and cost approximately $35US to travel by plane.  However, travel arrangements must be made in advance since the Easter weekend is very popular.  Glass-bottomed boats leave daily to take visitors to Buccoo Reef and Nylon Pool.  You can take a relaxing swim in the warm shallow blue-green water of the Pool that is just a few feet deep or snorkel on the Reef and get an up-close look at several species of hard and soft coral, as well as reef sharks, jewel fish and other forms of marine life.

Easter weekend is the season for Tobago goat- and crab-racing in the villages of Buccoo and Mt. Pleasant.  Also in April is the three-day Carib International Fishing Tournament.

We look forward to your presence and participation at S.K.I.F. V Pan American Karate Championships.
